ISIS Destroys Ancient Christian Monastery of St. Elijah in Northern Iraq

Steve on steps of Abram's ziggurat in ancient Ur in Iraq

It is devastating and infuriating to watch ISIS systematically abolish Christianity in the East while the world watches and does next to nothing! This is where biblical history began and we are watching all traces be obliterated.

Two years ago Janet and I visited Iraq to film the early life of Abraham. Here is where God began his covenant to establish the people of Israel – descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. This began 4,000 years ago and takes us back to the beginning of the Bible.

We visited the oldest biblical landmark which is called the Ziggurat of Ur where Abram and his family before him worship pagan gods before the God of Glory called him.

Now the Muslim hordes under the name ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) have swept in to establish a Caliphate (theocracy under the rule of Allah).

In their wake they are raping and murdering the Christians (People of the Cross) and destroying every remnant of Christianity. Their savage, insane  and inhumane razing of this ancient Christian land is maddening and painful to watch.

Why do they destroy these Christian sites and history? As one Iraqi priests in exile says, “We see it as an attempt to expel us from Iraq, eliminating and finishing our existence in this land,” said Father Paul Thabit Habib, who now lives in Kurdish-administered Irbil. They are claiming the land for their radical view of Allah an wiping out any remaining Christian memory or claim to the land.

Where is the world? Where are all the supposed humanists so concerned for culture and freedom? Why are Christians and their history not protected and preserved?

But this is the ripe fruit of Islam. Don’t be misled into thinking this is a religion of peace.

Ask anyone who lives among them in the Middle East – they will freely tell you the truth of Islam without the political correctness of the West which has not lived under the cloud of Islam. Wake up America!
