And I agree with him. Read his article HERE.

STEVE RAY HERE. I HAVE APPROVED THE COMMENT BELOW FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES. HERE IS AN EXAMPLE OF SOMEONE WHO DOES NOT TAKE THINGS AT FACE VALUE BUT LOOK FOR MORE NEFARIOUS, AND I THINK IN THIS CASE, RATHER ODD REASONS.

MARIA WRITES:
I see three reasons:
(i) The Ireland sex abuse case.
(ii) Declaring the “Year of Faith” calling Catholics globally to deepen their faith in Christ which is shallow.
(iii) In an address on November 19th 2008, he declared that Martin Luther was right on Sola fide – that we are Justified by God’s grace thru faith alone in Christ alone. Papal Rome’s reason for such a curse on those who hold to “justification by faith alone” is logical because of what she refuses to concede – through sheer puffed-up prideness. For her, justification is not an immediate declaration of God and received by “faith alone”; rather, she teaches that grace is conferred through her sacraments. Thus, she is able to make a place for herself as a necessary means through which inner righteousness is given.
(iv) Money scandal in the Vatican
(v) St. Malachy’s prophecies?

I prefer the concept that Pope Benedict is just elderly and too sick to take the rigors of the Office. Why can’t people simply leave it at that?

I was doubt St.Peter would have changed his mind the task he and other apostles were given by Jesus to proclaim the “Great Commission” – they did it at the cost of their lives, enduring persecution, hardship, were beaten up, tortured and dumped in prison. They didn’t have the privilege to travel in expensive limousines or travel the world on special aircraft.

STEVE RAY HERE. ALAN, WHAT A SILLY COMMENT. PETER AND PAUL USED THE *BEST* TRANSPORTATION METHODS OF THEIR TIME – SHIPS ACROSS THE MEDITERRANEAN SEA. THEIR GOAL WAS TO GET THE WORD OF GOD SPREAD FAR AND WIDE AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE. IF THEY COULD HAVE TRAVELED FASTER AND SAFER THEY CERTAINLY WOULD HAVE DONE SO. I CAN’T BELIEVE YOU EVEN SUGGESTED SUCH A FOOLISH LIMITATION ON SPREADING THE GOSPEL.

John Paul II was once asked by a group of journalist how he managed the papal office despite his knees were troubling him. John Paul II reply was .. ” I run the papal office with my head not my knees”. Jesus said he that does not take up his cross and follow after me, is not worthy of me (Matthew 10:38). We can certainly doubt the Apostolic succession story.

STEVE RAY HERE. JOHN, THE POINT OF YOUR COMMENT IS VERY UNCLEAR. IT SEEMS YOU ARE DENIGRATING OUR PAST POPE.
YOUR QUOTE FROM THE HOLY FATHER IS MOST CERTAINLY INCORRECT OR TAKEN OUT OF CONTEXT. IF YOU WANT TO QUOTE SOMETHING, PLEASE GIVE THE CONTEXT AND THE CITATION.
IF I AM CORRECT I REMIND YOU THAT IF ANYONE CARRIED THE CROSS OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST IT WAS JOHN PAUL II – AND HE DID IT IN FRONT OF THE WORLD. IF SOMEONE IS TOO BLIND TO SEE THIS, THEY ARE BLIND ENOUGH TO MISS A LOT OF THINGS.
I HOPE I AM WRONG IN MY ASSUMPTION, BUT YOUR POST WAS VERY UNCLEAR.
